Who We Are
We are a quarterly publication honoring the careers of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. |
The Sons of the Desert began at the Lambs Club in New York in 1965. The Intra-Tent Journal began in 1974, when Doctor Roger Gordon took what was the Sons of the Desert newsletter (published by the founding tent in New York, starting in 1971) and made it the Voice of the Laurel and Hardy appreciation society. It has continued to this day, usually as a quarterly glossy magazine.
Membership in the Sons of the Desert may be achieved by joining one of the tents worldwide or by becoming a Utopian individual member. Tent lists may be obtained by writing [email protected]. Subsciptions may also be made through this address.
International conventions are held in even years in the United States or Europe. The next one will be in Cincinnati in 2018. In the meantime, a European convention is also held (2017 in Belgium) and a U.K. convention in May. The Sons of the Desert and The Intra-Tent Journal are non-profit organizations.
